ECUADOR- ECOTOURISM TRADITIONS & CONSERVATIONISM

Climbing

With good climate, climbing will not have many difficulties. It should be known that the climate change, may alter the itinerary. There are never more than two people in the same string with a guide. This will provide security and increase the possibility of reaching the top.

For all the climbs the prices include:

  • Private transportation from and to Quito

  • Certified and experienced guides

  • Lodging in tents and refuges

  • All the meals

  • Entrance tickets to National Parks and thermal waters

  • Collective Camping Equipment
Equipment (dull, crampons, harness, mattock), if necessary

  • Cook

  • Luggage transportation

Optimal Climatic Conditions: When the climate is good there will be no greater climbing difficulties, this is in the months of December and January. But in any case, an acclimatization is needed mainly if one aims to climb the following mountains:

  • South Iliniza (5305m)

  • Antisana (5705 ms)

  • Cayambe (5790 ms)

  • Cotopaxi (5897m)

  • Chimborazo (6310m)

Long walks and ascents provide a great opportunity to become acclimated.
The medium mountains to which it is possible to climb are the following:

  • Rucu Pichincha (4698m)

  • Tungurahua (5016m)

  • Carihuairazo (5020m)

  • North Iliniza (5116m)
